Here's a photo of a quilt I just finished. This quilt has a bit of an interesting story. Most of the fabrics are repurposed. My quilting group had a fabric exchange of men's shirt pieces and unbelievably enough most of the pieces were similar in color; reds, rusts and salmons. It made it easy to use them together. The applique is felted wool pieces that started their lives as jackets - with the exception of the green that was a pair of pants. The jackets were acquired from thrift stores and the green pants from the army-navy surplus store. I felted the wool and used embroidery floss to applique the wool to the background. There were 288 berries!! I thought I'd NEVER finish with the berries!!! I hand quilted this one because of the amount of time that it had taken to do all of the applique.
