Another hardanger runner

This hardanger runner was made specifically to fit a long, narrow table that we bought.  This is the most labor-intense hardanger piece that I've made to date.  It has all of the elements that I love: lots of white surface embroidery, lots of eyelets and lots of wrapped bars.  The pattern is an original that I graphed out on paper many times before I could get the elements to fit together correctly.

Hardanger doily

This doily was one of the first that I finished.  It has a little ink stain on the far side that I have to hide with the lamp base - due to some clever teamwork of the people and fuzzies that I live with.  The cat managed to knock a pen off of a table, the dog proceeded to chew on the pen and munched it pretty good.  Then the husband picked the pen up off of the carpet and instead of throwing it away - he laid it on the doily where it leaked ink.  After all, a doily is only just a disposable bit of cotton that's made to protect the table top, right?  Grr.  It's a good thing that I love him with all my heart!!!!

Hardanger runner

This hardanger runner features some drawn thread work around the center panel.  It went quickly, but the wrapped bars took a long, long time to complete!
